Applying For A Provisional License
First things first, before you can even get into a car and start learning to drive, you have to apply for a provisional driving licence. To apply for this, you must complete the application form DL1 that's available from either:
Post offices,
DVTA test centres,
DVLNI local vehicle licensing offices
Driving Instructors
Although you can apply for your first licence 3 months before your seventeenth birthday you must not drive until your provisional licence arrives and comes into effect.
